Singer - songwriter Joshua Josue is set to release his latest single “Bogart & Me” on July 11, 2025, a heartfelt track inspired by a road trip across the Mojave Desert and the quiet strength of a four-legged co-pilot.

“Bogart & Me”  a song inspired by Joshua’s journey through the Mojave Desert to record with some of the most iconic names in American roots music.

The track blends upbeat Zydeco with a Tejano flair, weaving in lively accordion lines and rhythmic grooves to create a highway anthem capturing the thrill of creative pursuit and the quiet power of loyal companionship. Written during a late-night stop at a remote desert motel, the song is autobiographical and paints a vivid imagery of windswept roads, chance encounters, and a musician determined to give his dream everything he’s got — with his best friend, Bogart, a black mouth cur dog, by his side.

“I felt like I was on the adventure of a lifetime,” says Josue. “I was driving west to record with my musical heroes — Roly Salley and Hershel Yatovitz from the Chris Isaak band, Mitch Marine from Dwight Yoakam’s band, Joel Guzmán, Murry Hammond of The Old 97’s and Steve Berlin of Los Lobos. I was elated and nervous, yeah, these guys are close friends, but they are also some of my biggest musical influences, I mean I grew up listening to all the records they played on.

Sometimes when you step out into the unknown to give your dream your best shot it can be a bit scary and isolating, but I had Bogart on this journey with me, ever loving and supportive, this song is for him — and for that journey.”

About the Track:

Opening with a swaying accordion line that sets the tone, ‘Bogart & Me’ rolls into a desert-soaked groove, blending storytelling lyrics with rootsy, road-worn energy.” The chorus swells with dusty imagery:

“The desert night creeps in / The Santa Ana winds
Dust blows through the cab / Bogart & Me and our Rock n’ Roll dream
Man, we ain’t never coming back”

The single continues Josue’s theme of highway-inspired songwriting, following in the footsteps of American troubadours while carving out his own sonic lane.
