Joshua Josué’s “Come On, Let’s Go” — Celebrating the Legacy of Buddy Holly and Ritchie Valens

Acclaimed performer Joshua Josué brings his annual tribute concert honoring Ritchie Valens and Buddy Holly back to Portland, Seattle and Boise for an unforgettable night of timeless rock ’n’ roll.

This year’s event also marks the album release of Broadcast to the Surf Ballroom — a remarkable project in which Joshua completes several unfinished songs by Ritchie Valens and Buddy Holly, respectfully recorded and newly brought to life for modern audiences.

“I don’t try to be Buddy Holly and I don’t try to be Ritchie Valens,” Josué said from his Portland home. “I try to represent their music the best I can. I don’t want to make a caricature of Buddy Holly or Ritchie Valens; the world lost them. I just do my best to sing their songs the way they were intended to be sung.”

A Celebration of 66 Years Since “The Day the Music Died”

On February 12, music enthusiasts will have the privilege of experiencing Joshua’s heartfelt tribute firsthand. Taking center stage with his talented band, Joshua will recreate the spirit and emotion of the 1950s rock ’n’ roll era with hits from Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and The Big Bopper.

From the nostalgic rhythms of “La Bamba” to the infectious energy of “That’ll Be the Day” and the soulful beauty of “Donna,” the evening promises a captivating journey through the golden age of rock and roll.

But the magic doesn’t stop there — Joshua will also explore the lesser-known treasures of Ritchie Valens’ catalog, including “Ritchie’s Blues” and “Malagueña,” shining a light on the depth and artistry of the Chicano musical tradition.

Not only does Joshua highlight the hits of Buddy Holly, but he also revives his early rockabilly gems, such as “Blue Days,” “Rock Around with Ollie Vee,” and “Midnight Shift,” capturing the youthful drive and raw authenticity that defined Buddy’s early sound.

More Than a Tribute — A Cultural Celebration

This is more than a performance; it’s a celebration of rock ’n’ roll history and Chicano heritage — a fusion of cultural richness and artistic expression. Through Joshua’s soulful renditions, he not only pays homage to these musical pioneers but also continues to weave their influence into the modern tapestry of American music.
